How are you all doing? I hope you guys are still keeping to your resolutions..hehehee.. This is my 2nd entry for the year so permit me to welcome those who didn't read my previous post. We will talk later on sticking to our resolutions( Stick With It, no pun intended..lol ), but for now lets dive right into our topic for the day!
I've been on a kit condensing spree as you all know, after my kit became a tad too heavy for me. Depotting your eye shadows is a great way to save space and organize your makeup. It is not as difficult as people think once you understand how to go about it. You can depot the shadows into a Z palette or a Stick With It palette depending on your choice. We will be using the flat iron method, so let us get to it!
- A flat iron
- Pointed palette knife/ Spatula
- Blotting sheets( Serviette opened up will do)
- Stick with it Palette
- The eye shadows
Begin by looking for the space in between the shadow and the pot. Carefully wiggle you spatula until the shadow comes out of the eyeshadow pot.

Place you blotting paper on your flat iron and heat it real up.
Then place the eye shadow atop the paper on the ceramic plate and leave it for 1 to 3 minutes. Be careful not to overheat your eyeshadow as this hardens it and spoils the formulation.
Remove eyeshadow and gently use your spatula to poke through the back of the shadow until the metal pan separates from the plastic. At this point the metal pan will be hot so apply caution!
Peel off protective film of the Stick With It Palette, a corner is notched for easy removal.
Set your eye shadows on the surface. Once you have organized the shadows the way you like, gently press them to secure in place.
Moving forward, I have decided to get refill eye shadows when possible. Not only are refill eye shadows cheaper, they also make it easy for you to customize your palette by colours and for easy accessibility.
So beauties, its that easy. Have you ever depotted your eye shadows? What was your experience or challenge? Please share.
Have a lovely weekend beauties,
Till my next post,
Stay beautie-ful & radiant
